William James McBride

William James McBride, McBride was a football player, he played 63 tests including eleven as captain. He was born in Northern Ireland at Toomebridge. The first team he played against England. They beat three teams in their own country which are, The Springboks, Home Nations and Major Southern Hemisphere. He ends his international career in 15 March 1975 in that time he play against Wales. After retiring from playing football he coached the Irish team was also he leaded the 1983 British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. He lived in Ballyclare and the rewards he got is that they named him in Rugby world magazine ‘’Heineken Rugby personality of century’’
