Before 35 years ago the in UAE was simple and easy most of
people know each other well because they were few. In that time UAE was desert
and people only think about how to improve and change this desert into a green
country. The sport was hunting by falcon and camel racing. How is the sport in the past and the present?
I did an interview with my Grandfather and in this interview
I’ve heard a lot of stories and advices we should follow, my grandfather is the
first guy who teach me how to play football and told me about sport and what is
the important things about it.
In the past camel race was one of the best sports they do it’s
our tradition; people were racing around the city to see which camel is the
fastest. The race was simple and sometimes the reward is red dates, for the
first place. In addition they also go for hunting by falcon in that time what they
hunt they eat it, a lot of people move to one place where there is krowan it is
a big bird and start hunting. So the people when they want to entertain themselves
in the past they have few things to do like travel or do some sport like
hunting or racing.
However, now everything is easy there is a specific places
to do some sort of sport like camel racing or hunting by falcons and there is competitions
and rewards for the participants. If you got a good camel you can go to
alwathba and participate for the competition. The rewards now are so high it
might reach 5million it depends on how many people are there and who is the
owner/sponsor of the competition. Also there is a media and advertisement for
the race like radio and TV and newspaper.
